"Jackie O's Wardrobe at the MOMA "Graphite, Pastel & Paper 86 x 36 2001
It is interesting how groups of people self organize in public places. As in physics where particles self organize out of what seems to be chaos we do the same in kind response. This subject matter was taken from a New York Times photo. I overlaid this drawing with a grid to show relational behavior among strangers. Most of the people shown in this drawing are women and the curious point is none of them seem to be happy, highlighted by the guard on the right with her arms folded . The scene strikes me as a pilgrimage that is very somber in tone. They almost seem to be obligated to attend this event...Jackie Kennedy was held up as standard of femininity that was was mostly unattainable and unforgiving. Have woman successfully broken out of this mold?... How do the women shown here self organize in this random event at the Museum Of Modern Art?..
